Australia Day celebrations in Sydney are centred on the Sydney Harbour. Locals and tourists throng the harbour to watch the amazing and spellbinding events on the harbour.

• Australia Day Fireworks on Darling Harbour

Watch the commuter ferries – the green and yellow catamarans – make a dash for the coveted Lord Mayor’s trophy. Each ferry is dressed up to look its best and so are its passengers! From the start of the Ferrython, judges will be on the prowl on the harbour looking for the best dressed vessel on the harbour, the best theme, the best flag display, etc. etc. Watch the wide array of sailing craft participating in Australia Day Regatta, the world’s oldest annual sailing regatta. Admire the awesome aerial display by the Royal Australian Air Force. And finally, as a fitting finale to the exciting day, enjoy the spectacular Australia Day Fireworks!
