Celebrate Australia Day aboard Sydney Showboat

Ignite your patriotic fervour and celebrate Australia Day on 26 January with a 3.5-hour buffet lunch cruise aboard the Sydney Showboat. It’s a cruise that transports you to a world of yesteryear glitz and glamour, reliving the glory of authentic paddlewheelers that plied the Sydney Harbour hundreds of years ago.

Being a public holiday, Sydney Harbour goes into overdrive hosting some amazing events that include the popular Ferrython, the Tall Ships race, aerial displays and flyovers and spectacular Australia Day fireworks. So, join the rest of the community down at the harbour and celebrate the spirit of being a true Australian!

The Sydney Showboat has large wrap-around balconies and expansive outer decks that give you an unobstructed view of the harbour that is bustling with events that inspire national pride on Australia Day.

Watch four Sydney ferries battle it out in the bright and colourful Ferrython as they race from Fort Denison to the Harbour Bridge.

You can also treat your eyes to the Australia Day Sailing Regatta as it cascades down the glistening harbour waters. Yachts, boats, cranes, tall ships, barges, ferries and tour boats participate in the parade all dressed up and decorated in national colours and flags – and up for grabs is the title of ‘Best Dressed Vessel’.

At noon, the Armed Forces pay their tribute to the Federation with a 21 Gun Salute that is followed by synchronised choirs singing the national anthem. Later, the Australian Army, Royal Australian Navy and Royal Australian Air Force regale Sydney with a ceremonial display that commemorates the making of a great nation.
