A Night To Remember: Sydney Showboats Comes Together With Andre Rieu, The King Of Waltz

On Sunday, 18 November 2018, Sydney Showboat II had the absolute pleasure of hosting none other than the ‘King of Waltz’ himself, André Rieu, for a special 2-hour dinner cruise to promote his international ‘Christmas with André Tour.’

For those who may not know, André Rieu is a Dutch violinist, conductor, and all-around showman who has sold over 40 million albums worldwide! With more than 70,000 fans attending his concerts each year, he’s easily one of the world’s top ten touring acts. In fact, back in 2008, he was named Number 1 Classic Artist in the US and racked up over 100x Platinum in Australia—no easy feat, right?

With Sydney Harbour as the breathtaking backdrop, André, his Johann Strauss Orchestra, and 73 lucky guests, including a bustling film crew, enjoyed a magical evening aboard our charming paddlewheeler.

The event on board the Showboat was part of the promotion for his upcoming performances in Sydney on 21 and 22 November. While the guests dined on a specially curated menu filled with festive treats like Christmas pavlovas and fruit-filled flans, the Sydney Harbour views were the perfect complement to the evening’s atmosphere.
